is a verse set in a fictionalized version of the music industry. central to the story are two girl groups — in stereo and lucky dynamite — formed from popular singing competition reality shows, that are pitted against one another by the media, but looks can certainly be deceiving.
of course, there are other characters at play, too: other artists, bands, managers, choreographers, friends from back home, and even the fans.

( surprise! isabel is now the recipient of a relatively tiny girl with huge hair who absolutely flings herself at her in a clinging hug — and thankfully it is the singer that she seeks and not some fan who's recognized her from afar in the dim lighting of the club.
rosie speaks about a mile a minute, even as she clings: ) Oh my god, Isabelly, I thought I was lost forever in this place an' I didn't want to be even though the purple is nice but then you said that Tamsie was missing and I knew I had to help you go find her and I've been a proper mess all evening an' — now you're here, oh, thank Christ —

[ isabel is, fortunately, expecting that sort of greeting, but not quite as quickly as it comes. she's thrown off balance a little bit as a result and her arms go quick around rosie in an attempt to calm her and steady herself. she gives her a moment or two of chatter, maneuvering their positions a bit so she can look in her eyes. ]
Yes, I'm here, Isabelly's here to save the day. [ she smiles in spite of her slight exasperation, trying to look in her eyes, but it's too dark for her to properly see. ] I don't think she's missing, I just thought she might be with you. If not, she's probably gotten back already.
[ she manages to untangle rosie's arms from around her waist and takes her hand instead, starting to direct them towards the exit, giving her another reassuring smile. ] We're gonna go somewhere quiet and give her a call, okay? Where are you staying? Is it close?
I wish she was with me, ( rosie finds it necessary to say, complete with a furrowed brow and pouted lip. but isabel is taking her hand instead, tugging her through the crowd of partygoers which rosie is a little worse than isabel at. but she's relatively unscathed, anyway, definitely better now that there's a reassuring presence guiding her along.
she even manages a smile! she's beaming, really. ) Oh, oh, oh, I actually remember! It's the — erm, somethin' or other Inne & Suites on — River Street! Yes, that's it. I remember being a fair bit disappointed when there was no actual river to be found anywhere nearby. Lying wankers. ( whoops, not trying to get cranky here. ) When you call Tamsie, tell her I said hi, will you?
[ isabel guides her outside, looking behind her every so often to make sure rosie hasn't stumbled or been accosted by anyone. the crowd around them seems more concerned with themselves than two members of 'rivaling' girl groups, so they emerge from the club relatively unscathed. still holding rosie's hand, she holds her hand out to hail a cab, looking back at rosie with another smile. ]
Silly, you can tell her yourself! You don't think I'd call her and not let you talk to her, do you?
